Master of Business Administration (iMBA)

Online MBA at the University of Illinois

Earn the MBA of the future! The University of Illinois iMBA program is affordable, heavily interactive, and completely online.

The iMBA program features live global classrooms, team projects, and personal contact with your professors. The 1,000+ students in the iMBA family represent more than 65 countries and 40 states across the United States. The program has been called a “breakthrough” by Poets & Quants magazine, a leading authority on management education.

The iMBA organizes its curriculum into modules called Specializations, which contain courses in leadership, strategy, economics, accounting, and finance. Each core Specialization helps you hone your foundational executive management abilities. Additional Specializations are designed to develop your future-forward vision in areas like digital marketing, innovation, and globalization.

Each Specialization is open for you to start today, before you submit an application. As you complete a Specialization, you’re ready for immediate impact in that area. To earn the MBA degree, you’ll complete six Specializations, three Capstone Projects, and participate in weekly live global classrooms that are deeply engaging, interactive, and practice-oriented. In these live sessions, you will work directly with faculty and get opportunities to learn from industry experts as well as your peers.

At less than $22,000, the program cost is “by far the lowest of any major university’s online MBA.”1 You’ll benefit from the same instructors, degree, and alumni network as students who earn their Illinois MBA on campus.

Faculty

What Our Students Have to Say

[Illinois’ iMBA] faculty are world-renowned and it’s a well-respected degree. I thought between the flexibility of being online and the quality, caliber of the education, and the price is very affordable, you really have the trifecta.

Dana Kennedy

I chose the iMBA because of the flexibility the program offers. I have a 2 year old daughter and a 3 hour commute. Time is not something I have a lot of. I have studied on the plane, on the [train], in cabs, and hotel rooms. Everywhere I go I can pick up my course and engage with my classmates.

Eric Kung

The reality in business today is that we’re working in virtual teams. We’re collaborating with people across the state, across the country, across the globe, and I think that in itself is a competency that you can only really learn by participating in teams that are that diverse.
